Beyond Design Group, Inc. is an A & E (architectural design and engineering) firm based in Los Angeles, California providing architecture throughout all domestic regions and abroad. The firm handles all aspects of architectural design related services; services from planning and designing residential, institutional, leisure, commercial and industrial buildings and structures by applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning regulations, building codes and building materials/process.

DERRICK D. BURNETT
Derrick Burnett has been creating inventive, diversified commercial & residential development throughout Southern California, and abroad for over 27 years. Derrick’s excellent visual awareness and great aesthetic eye have made him well known through many of his contributions to structures such as the Center for Sustainable Communities, as well as national monuments and HPOZ projects like the Dorothy Chandler Estate, both projects in Southern California. Derrick began his formal study of architecture at Pierce College, School of Architecture in Woodland Hills, CA, and also commenced his internship with the late architect, Lester Oliver Bankhead, of Bankhead Building Designs. His continued studies in Construction Management, and Environmental Design at CSU, Chico and then Cal Poly Pomona, increased Derrick’s architectural vocabulary, evolving into designs that would showcase a vast production of contemporary and traditional works. Derrick’s projects included work with FEMA as a Building Inspector for Community Redevelopment and Disaster Relief at USC; Project Manager at OES, the Government Office of Emergency Services, providing feasibility analysis’s for disaster relief post 1994 Northridge CA earthquake, where he oversaw, and designed property restorations for Southern California beach city owned properties from Malibu to Catalina Island; and then a Construction Manager and Design Specialist for the Neighborhood Housing Services of LA County, designing the rehabilitation of single-family and multi-family properties, and facilitating the LA Housing Department Rehab programs throughout the Southern California basin. Derrick started his company in July 2004, and incorporated under the name, Beyond Design Group, Inc. in November 2017. His work in community development has involved many types of projects, such as: Public facilities and private developments for the LA County Sheriff’s Department, new designs or re- qualifications of family homes, collective housing projects, tourist developments, restaurants and public facilities. This includes a sports, social, educational and recreational entities. Regarding urban regeneration, he has completed a wide variety of urban planning projects encompassing all plans, studies and site development. Derrick brings a breadth of expertise to each project and is highly-regarded for his expertise utilizing site view orientation, creative use of green building techniques, and effective working knowledge of sustainable building materials. His intuition and creative approach towards design are integrated into all of his firm's work, satisfying all ranges of clientele, resulting in total excellence.
